NATIONAL FRUIT OF INDIA - MANGO
The mango is the national fruit of India. the mango is the fleshy stone fruit belonging to the genus magnifera. mangoes are rich in vitamin A , C and D. it is also called the king of fruits.
There are over 100 varieties of mangoes in India. they are in various rang of colours, sizes and shapes it has been cultivated in India since time immemorial. people eat mangoes ripe or prepare them green as pickles or sauces.
Mango is the king of all fruits. mango is loved by almost everyone. it grow well during summer season. it has big hard seed. mango is green and yellow in colour. it is very sweet and delicious fruit.
it is a good source of various vitamins and mineral.Mango is used to make salad, juice, jams, milkshake and pickle. mango leaves are used to decorate the door of the house and the PUJA KALASH.
TYPES OF MANGO IN INDIA
1 ALPHONSO - Called as Ratnagiri, Badami, in Karnataka and happus in maharashtra, alphonsos are
caleed the king of mangoes
2 KESAR - This is expensive variety of Gujarat with a red blush on the shoulder. One of the most expensive ones. fruit size is medium, shape oblong and keeping quality is good.
3 DASHERI - This variety derives its name from the village dashenari near Luckhow. tastes rich and sweet
4 AMRAPALI - The amrapali mango is a named mango cultivar introduced in 1971. it was developed as a hybrid variety of dasheri and neelum by dr. pijush kanti majumdar.
5 LANGARA - This variety is indigenous to varanasi area of uttar pradesh. legend says the mother tree still lives today in a village in UP. the house belong to a person who is mobility impaired- hence the name.
